Born in Osaka, Japan in 1962, he held his first exhibition at the International Surfing Museum in Huntington Beach, California in 1997. Since then, he has been expressing his feelings and messages inspired by surfing as surf art, specifically in the form of artworks and products, and has designed products in collaboration with various brands and companies, and has been involved in many exhibitions in Japan and other countries. He is also the director of THE SURF SHOP art exhibitions.
Koji Toyoda is celebrating 30 years as an artist this year and will hold commemorative exhibitions in Tokyo, Fukuoka, Kyoto, Yokohama, and Hawaii. In response to Mr. Toyoda's enthusiastic request to make an analog record for this milestone year, Chignitta has produced the second volume of its own label, "Chignitta Records", entitled "Enjoy! Palm Graphics" LP This is an original and limited edition LP record featuring the best of four CDs released by BEAMS RECORD in the 2000s, selected for this release. It contains pleasant music like the origin of surf music such as Tommy Guerrero and MOCHEY.
The idea for "Enjoy SURF" came to him on his 30th birthday while drinking a Coke after taking a bath, and symbolized his love of surfing and self-expression. This is the starting point of Koji Toyoda / Palm Graphics, a leading artist in modern surf art. This year "2022" is the premium year to commemorate 30 years since the birth of "Enjoy SURF" and 25 years since the first exhibition at the International Surfing Museum in Huntington Beach, LA. The exhibition, titled "Unplugged," will be a touring exhibition that evolves while respecting the original, like a self covering of a familiar classic song reconstructed in a "current" style of singing. cities to Hawaii.
