Evelyn Pritt is a photographer from Indonesia. She told me that this dynamic panorama of the twinkling star-filled sky was taken on a black sand beach formed by a volcano in Bali. She told me that what shines like a first magnitude star is a piece of glass. I would like to introduce her "Stars below" series. Everything has a life, even the smallest thing has a universe. I think this is what it means to make a photograph of aminism.(Yoshihiro Taniguchi)
About the project: Stars Below
These are photos of volcanic sands by the beach in Bali. When you see the sands from a certain angle and at a specific time, these sands will shine reflecting the sun. It looks like deep space filled with many stars, and it makes me wonder if the deep space is actually a solid matter just like these sands below my feet.
When I took the photos of these sands, an old man came to me and ask what did I photograph. He said that the sands sparkle like diamonds, but it's very difficult to capture (with a camera). It will be better to capture them with memory.

Evelyn is an Indonesian photo based artist and a self taught photographer. She uses photography as a data collection tool to observe nature and her surroundings to create a visualization of questions and thoughts that arise during the observation.
Photography also enables her to explore the possibilities of multiple visual perception from a scene by changing the orientation of the image, free from the rules of what should be above and below.
