Artist's comment

I photographed a pattern of ink falling into the water that happened to form a human shape, and reconstructed it into a painting based on the photograph. The moment it looks like a person is only for a moment, and the next moment it turns into just stagnant water, and eventually the entire water goes from transparent to solid gray. I feel like I have found what I want to paint by prolonging this series of artistic moments forever.

I believe that vibrant red is the color of life, and that it shines most vividly when sandwiched between white and black, the colors of beginning and end.
