KOTA TOYODA Solo Exhibition STAR CHILDREN starts on February 25th (Fri)

Born in Osaka in 1991 and started painting when he was 15 years old.

We are pleased to announce Kota Toyoda's solo exhibition "STAR CHILDREN" is held at chignitta space in Osaka from February 25th. His artworks are well-known for their bright, happy, pop and cute expressions. Let's get out from the cold and colorless winter season to spring with his paintings.

This exhibition is one of the series exhibitions that he did in 2020 at BEAMS JAPAN B GALLERY. Toyoda adds some brand-new paintings especially for the exhibition at chignitta space to update his mood and expressions more and more.

His unique painting way is called as "dripping method" in which he drops paints from the edge of the painting brush and creates unexceptional and happening paints on the paper and canvases.

■Message from Kota Toyoda for the exhibition this time

In this exhibition, "STAR CHILDREN," the main motif is "flowing stars (children of angels)," which accompany the starry sky on canvas. I believe that the warmth I feel when I meet people and feel the touch of their hearts is the same feeling I get when I look up at the starry sky. I painted the encounter with the flowing stars as if the light envelops both joy and sorrow.
